This is not a mess, this is a rangoli 
Just remembered this old Archies’ Diwali ad because of all the family involvement over rangolis at my own house. My husband, my daughters, the domestic helps- everyone seemed to be five years old again in a kindergarten art class. The 1st rangoli was my husband’s favourite creation, the 3rd picture is my elder daughter’s and the 5th picture is my younger daughter’s, the 6th is my domestic help’s- I’m sure that gives a very good idea of what everyone’s mood was like even in all the simplicity and childlikeness, a lot of creativity and artistic talent came up.
The most beautiful moment for me was when one of the part-timers completely lost track of time and had to be reminded that it was time for her to go home. She’s worked with me for 16 years and this is the first time she’s shown such reluctance to leave even an hour after her ordinary closing time
