24. might be refering to eggs?
May 3, 2008 at 9:09 pm
Yes, 24. is referring to how to eat eggs and it betrays its Western bias. I think for Indians, this tag question should be modified to “Bhurji ya omelet ya boiled?” (or something along those lines)

Nice and straight answers. Btw, I already did my tag couple of days back as I was tagged before that. Infact, I didnt tag you because I had seen you being tagged already.

If 24 is about eggs than my answer is, I am a vegetarian and for generations our family has been vegetarian and that explains why I didn’t understand this one. Thanks Rajiv, Amit and @ Lallopallo.
I read your answers now @lallopallo. Nice to know you.

I tried finishing THe Last Mughal but could not. It was too big a historical manuscript for me. Somehow I could not bring myself to read it honestly as I read other books. I never leave a book unfinished. Anna Karenina was another such book.
I guess I will try Litterati too if it is a word game.

Poonam, Literatti is an online version of Scrabble. You are right i am finding it difficult to finish ‘The Last Moghul’. The City Of Djinns was by the same author very interesting and that is why I started it. Let me see if I can finish it

lol Amit, you were quick at finding a “bias”.
Rajiv, we all have biases.
My comment also had a North Indian/Hindi bias, because I don’t know whether Indians in other parts also eat bhurji/omelet/boiled or a different form of egg.

@Pr3rna: Yes, I loved City of Djinns. It was both entertaining and informative. I had planned to write a review, but never got around to it. It tells about so many things that we might not have thought about even while living in city: bird fighting, eunuchs, old landmarks…

Poonam, I saw a play based on the book. The main actors were Tom Alter and Zohra Sehgal. Tom Alter played the role of William Dalrymple. It was a wonderful experience. Open air theatre with live performances by qawwals, the whole effect was magical.

@ Prerna: I am guessing this is a place to say that I tagged you for a foodie meme. Looking forward to reading your response. Thanks.

@Pr3rna: Yes, I have heard so much about the play. It had expensive tickets than other plays that are staged in Delhi. somehow I missed the play for some reason or other. It was staged few days back as well. I read about Directer Rudra how the idea of transforming book into play came into being. If you recommend the play, I regret not watching it.
